Quoi de plus mignon qu'un chien assis sur vos pieds ? Pas beaucoup! C'est l'une des questions les plus courantes que l'on me pose. Il semble que peu importe vos efforts, les chiens s'assoient sur vos pieds. Et pour ceux qui aiment les chiens et qui veulent savoir pourquoi ils s'assoient si souvent sur nos pieds, voici les raisons :
Les chiens veulent être proches de vous
Ils sont assis à vos pieds et veulent être aussi proches que possible. Les chiens s'assoient à côté de vous sur le canapé, s'assoient à vos pieds pendant qu'ils préparent le dîner, s'assoient sous un bureau pendant les heures de travail, s'assoient devant la porte lorsque vous n'êtes pas à la maison... ils veulent juste être avec vous. Lorsqu'ils souffrent d'anxiété de séparation, cela peut devenir très stressant pour le chien et le propriétaire, car les chiens ne comprennent pas que leurs propriétaires reviendront. L'anxiété de séparation est assez courante chez les chiots, mais peut également se développer à l'âge adulte si un chiot n'apprend pas qu'il est normal et sûr d'être séparé des membres de sa famille. S'il y a eu un changement important dans la routine ou l'environnement, cela pourrait déclencher ce comportement, comme déménager ou avoir de nouvelles personnes fréquemment (nouveau bébé, nouveau colocataire).
Les chiens adorent être près de vous, s'asseoir à côté de vous sur le canapé ou s'asseoir à vos pieds pendant qu'ils se reposent dessus. Les chiens sont des créatures loyales qui ne veulent rien de plus que nous, les humains, pour bien les traiter et leur donner de l'affection en cas de besoin. Ils comprennent que nous leur fournissons de la nourriture, un abri et de l'eau, il est donc juste qu'ils fassent tout ce qui est nécessaire pour rembourser nos gentillesses.
Vous pouvez également apprendre à un chien des tours qui l'aideront à se divertir, comme s'asseoir comme on lui a appris avant le dîner tous les soirs jusqu'à ce qu'on vous dise le contraire (ou si on vous le demande gentiment). Il sera excité au moment des repas parce qu'il sait qu'il sera nourri après avoir exécuté ce tour.
Votre chien essaie d'attirer votre attention
Votre chien essaie d'attirer votre attention lorsqu'il pose ses pieds sur vous ou s'assoit devant vous. Les chiens s'assoient ou posent leurs pieds sur des choses qu'ils aiment et veulent se rapprocher d'eux, comme une personne. Si votre chien veut quelque chose de spécifique de votre part (comme une promenade), essayez de lui donner ce qu'il veut avant de lui demander quoi que ce soit !

If there is ever an instance where this doesn’t seem to be true feel free to tell him off by saying something like “no” firmly without yelling at him so he understands that this isn’t acceptable behavior.
